Hot water bottles
It is prohibited to supply rubber and PVC hot water bottles that don't meet the required standards.
About this unsafe goods notice
This notice came into force on 11 December 2008 for an indefinite period.
The notice prohibits the supply of PVC and rubber hot water bottles that don't meet the standard BS 1970:2012 Hot water bottles manufactured from rubber and PVC.
Importers and New Zealand suppliers of hot water bottles may be required to produce a test certificate for the New Zealand Customs Service or the Commerce Commission that:
- is from a laboratory accredited to BS 1970:2012 under ISO 17025
- certifies that the hot water bottles comply with British Standard BS 1970:2012 Hot water bottles manufactured from rubber and PVC Specification, and
- is less than 36 months old.
