2017 Can-Am Outlander/Outlander Max with 450 or 570 engine equipped with Dynamic Power Steering.

If your ATV is a 2017 Can-Am Outlander™ / Outlander™ MAX™ with Dynamic Power Steering (DPS) and either a 450 or 570 engine: Contact your BRP Dealer to verify if your specific VIN is affected and as to whether your vehicle is in the affected range (not all vehicles within the criteria are affected). Vehicles that do not have Dynamic power steering are not affected.
The Hazard!
The DPS shaft may break causing a loss of steering control, in some circumstances, this may lead to a crash.
What to do...
If your vehicle is within the affected criteria, you should check with your dealer as to whether your specific VIN is affected.
Stop using your vehicle or organise for the interim solution which allows for some limited use such as staying under 30 km/h and taking is slow on rough terrain. The permanent remedy should start being available in May 2018.
April 2018: The permanent solution is now available, contact your BRP Can-Am dealer and to organise to have your vehicle repaired.
