Sold at Global Baby & Dimples from October 2017 to March 2020 BeSafe iZi Go X1 & Stokke iZi Go X1 by BeSafe 1. Check if your baby car seat is a BeSafe iZi Go X1 or a Stokke iZi Go X1 by BeSafe 2. If yes, check the serial number on your seat: If your serial number is between ZG0247548 and ZG(0)27052 then your carseat is affected and needs to be repaired. The potential safety risk only applies when the iZi Go X1 is used in combination with the ISOfix base (The base itself is not affected though). It is safe to use the iZi Go X1 when installing with the vehicle belt only.
The Hazard!
In the identified affected batches, there is a potential issue with the component that connects the iZi Go X1 seat to the ISOfix base.
In an accident or after sudden braking the connection to the ISOfix base can fail to hold as expected, which could result in serious injury.
Global Baby identified the issue during follow up testing in February 2020.
What to do...
Install your seat with the vehicle belt only until it is repaired (do not use the ISOfix base until the repair is completed).
Contact your retailer to organise a repair (repairs are available from June 2020 (Parts are delayed due to Covid 19).
