The Hazard!
A limited number of these pedals were made with hydrogen embrittlement in the spindle of the pedal, which could cause one or both of the pedals to fail. If the pedal body separates from the spindle, the rider could be involved in a serious accident. Do not use these pedals until they have been brought to a Trek retailer for repair. If you are unable to conclude whether the pedals are affected, take them to a Trek retailer for inspection or call Trek Customer Service.
What to do...
Do not use these pedals until they have been repaired. If you own pedals that are affected by this recall, Trek will provide you – through a Trek retailer – a free replacement spindles for your pedals. Please call your Trek retailer to make an appointment to collect your free replacement spindles.
