Sold to various schools from to 2018
Gauze Mats with a ceramic centre.
Any gauze mat that cannot be specifically identified as not one of the affected units should be disposed of.
The Ceramic Centre of the gauze mat contains asbestos, which can release when cracked or worn.
Exposure to asbestos can result in asbestos related diseases.
What to do...
Schools with affected gauze mats should bag up any potentially affected mats carefully and safely (wearing a P2 mask and disposable gloves).
If staff are not comfortable handling the gauze mats or if they are fraying/cracking, schools may wish to organise an asbestos removal contractor.
Electroflash is contacting all affected schools and businesses.
