Lithium battery management recommendations for FELCO end users

Batteries supplied from November 2012 to September 2016 Li-Po Battery 880/192 used for electric pruning shear The product, battery FELCO 880/192, is a rechargeable lithium polymer battery 37 V - 2.5 Ah - 92.5 Wh which is used for the operation of the electric pruning shears FELCO 801-HP, FELCO 811-HP and FELCO 820-HP. The battery is worn in the back-pack FELCO 880-NP when the pruning shear is in use. The shear is connected to the back-pack respectively the battery via a cable. The battery can be disconnected from the main electronic contol panel to be recharged or stored when not in use. The back-pack is delivered in a fire-resistant plastic case together with the shear, the equipment (e.g. charger power cord etc.) and the rechargeable lithium polymer battery 37 V - 2.5 Ah - 92.5 Wh. Used primarily by professional agricultural users. The Hazard!
Batteries may swell and/or create internal sparks and/or burn.
There is a risk of minor burns mainly on the back, if the back-pack is worn.
In the event of a fire caused by a battery, there is a risk of serious injury.
If a battery fire spreads due to the contact with flammable materials, the battery being left unattended and/or not being properly stored, the risk can be major property damage and possible death from fire or smoke.
