The Hazard!
If the gate is open, turning the key in the striker component of the gate latch may cause the gate to remain locked in the open position.
If the gate latch remains locked in the open position, it will not prevent unsupervised access to the pool area posing a potential drowning risk.
What to do...
Disable your key lock mechanism by removing the key from the striker and filling the key hole with waterproof glue.
Register your details on the Safetech hardware website for a replacement striker (a keyless striker or a lockable striker).
For more information, please contact SafeTech Hardware.
Disabling the key lock mechanism will not affect the latches ability to latch and secure.
